Constitutes the tenth part of Theodor de Bry's Small voyages, printed in 13 parts and an Appendix in Frankfurt am Main and Oppenheim from 1597 to 1633
This work has been identified as the first Latin edition of part ten of the Small voyages by Church
This part contains four short chapters as follows: (1) An extract giving an account of the discovery of Hudson's Bay. (2) A short account of the two voyages made to the north by Jan Huygen van Linschoten; taken from the Latin edition of his voyages, published in 1599. (3) An account of de Quir's voyage and discovery of the new continent, "Terra australis imcognita". (4 and 5) Extracts relative to the Samoiedes and other peoples of the north; with a description of Siberia by Isaac Massa. All of these, but the chapter devoted to Linschoten's voyages, were translated from the collection of Hessel Gerritsz, by Gothard Artus. Cf. Church

"Compendiosa et svccincta insvlarum locorvmqve aliorvm, ab Hollandis qvondam in navigationibus istis septentrionalibus frequentatorum, ex Iohannis Hugonis Lintschottani nauigationibus desumpta commemoratio", p. 11-12, is excepted from" Navigatio ac itinerarium Iohannis Hugonis Linscotani in Orientalem sive Lusitanorum India / by Jan Huygen van Linschoten, printed in The Hague, 1599, which is a translation of selections into Latin of the author's: Itinerario, voyage ofte schipvaert van Jan Huygen van Linschoten naer Oost ofte Portugaels Indien, printed in Amsterdam, 1596
"Icones, seu tabvlae chorographicae, sitvm et qvalitatem regionvm, qvarvm in explicata hactenus descriptione mentio facta est, ad viuum repraesentantes, in aes pvlcherrime incisae in qve lucem datae à Iohanne-Theodorico de Bry", p. [1-2], 2nd count, has separate title page with imprint: Francofvrti, typis viduae Matthiae Beckeri. M. DC. XIII. [1613]
